A Less Carnivorous, User-Friendly Version of the Shark Tank comes to Southern California

The Guppy Tank, Offers Money, Mentorship, & Opportunity to help Southern California Entrepreneurs reach New Levels of Success

September 21,2012 – For entrepreneurs looking for funding, connections, mentorship or partners, The Guppy Tank may be the opportunity they have been seeking. Based on the ABC hit show Shark Tank , a panel of investors will be pitched by businesses of many types and if the panel likes what they hear, a partnership can be offered. But unlike the Shark Tank which can be adversarial and cut-throat, this localized version is meant to nurture and mentor businesses that have potential. Program sponsor Super G Funding, LLC and BizCash has designated a minimum of $500,000 or more for a funding pool from which money will be awarded. In addition to the funding each of the recipients will be given the opportunity to work with the Guppy investors and receive advice on how they might best grow their businesses and use this infusion.

Those selected will audition to present their business and ideas to a group of investor Å“Guppies who will award funds in the form of equity investments, loans or a combination of both. The Main event itself will be held October. 25, 2012 at the Balboa Bay Club in Newport Beach, Orange County, California, but on October 13, 2012, they will be offering a FREE Entrepreneur Clinic pre-event to help them hone their pitch at Concordia University in Irvine.

This four-hour workshop will teach participants the best ways to articulate and pitch their businesses and will be guided by successful business trainers and consultants as well as those that have been through the trenches themselves. During the program panelists that have participated ON the Shark Tank TV show will share their experiences and give pointed advice about the do’s and the do not’s. In addition, those that come to the pre-event may participate in a 100-day program to help them to the next step regardless of whether they get funded or not.

The Guppy Tank was created as a way to reach out and help local businesses get the funding that they need, says Darrin Ginsberg Guppy Tank founder. We want to find businesses that will have a positive impact on the local community, have a real passion for what they do and then help them take their business to the next level.

Businesses wishing to apply must operate a for-profit organization in Southern California that has been in business for at least one year,

Whether they are seeking funding, connections, investors, mentorship or partners, this pre-event help create more clarity in their vision. The clinic will prepare entrepreneurs looking for financial backing for: Expansion, Inventory, Training, Equipment, Relocation, Advertising, or Staffing.
