Rob Tobin acts as the Chief Investment Officer at Persimmon Capital Partners. In this capacity, Rob leads private equity and alternative investment activities and is also focused on Persimmon’s overall portfolio allocation strategy.
Prior to joining Persimmon in 2012, Rob served as an investment professional with ABS Capital Partners, a private equity firm focused on later stage growth investments. At ABS, Rob focused on investments in the technology, media, and telecommunications (TMT) sectors, and worked closely with companies on key strategic and operational objectives. Before joining ABS, Rob served as an investment banker with Friedman Billings Ramsey advising growth companies in the TMT sectors on mergers and acquisitions, and private and public equity and debt capital activities.
Rob serves on the boards of Novus Capital Group, RedPoint Global, Southern Management Corporation, IgnitionOne, US Auto Sales and Tagnetics, all Persimmon Capital portfolio companies. Rob also serves on the boards of SalesWarp, and the National MS Society – Maryland Chapter and The Kevin E. Reichardt Foundation, both local non-profit organizations.
Rob received an M.B.A from Columbia Business School and a B.S. from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
